From first phone call to the day we hand over the keys — here's what working with Formation Building looks like.
Step 1 — Discovery Call
30 minutes. No obligation.
We talk through your project, your vision, and where you are in the process. If we're a good fit, we book a site meeting. If we're not, we'll tell you honestly — and point you toward someone who might be.
Step 2 — Site Meeting
We come to you.
We meet at your property, walk the existing space, and talk through what's possible. This is where we get a real feel for the site, the constraints, and what you're trying to achieve. You'll get our initial thoughts on scope, feasibility, and indicative budget before we leave.
Step 3 — Feasibility & Estimate
Before you commit to anything.
Based on what we've discussed and any drawings you have, we provide a feasibility estimate. This gives you a clear picture of whether the project is viable at your budget before you spend money on detailed design or pre-construction.
Step 4 — Pre-Construction
Fixed price. Fully documented.
This is a paid phase — and the most important one. We engage trades, finalise specifications, lock in selections, and prepare a detailed scope of works. By the end of it, you have a fixed-price quote and a clear programme. No guesswork, no surprises.
Step 5 — Construction
Contracts signed. Build begins.
Site set up, tools on, and we get to work. Throughout construction you'll have regular updates, scheduled site meetings, and direct access to Chris. Nothing changes without your sign-off. We run a clean, well-organised site and we aim to finish on programme.
Step 6 — Handover
Done properly.
Full walkthrough, defects rectified, documentation complete. We don't consider a project finished until you're satisfied with every detail.
